New Delhi, August 24: The Reserve bank of India on Thursday has announced that the new note of Rs.200 will be issued on August 25, 2017.The dimension as per the RBI release is going to 66 mm × 146 mm and will have some really amazing features. The signature of Dr Urjit R. Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India from select RBI offices, and some banks also going to be on this new banknote of Rs.200.The sailent feature of this note includes Motif of Sanchi Stupa on the reverse, depicting the country’s cultural heritage, 200 electrotype watermarks (a watermark in the light where hue is ‘strained’ so as to create a strong contrast with its surrounding surface) among the others.
The colour scheme of this note Bright Yellow. RBI said that the height of the note is going to be same as a new note of Rs.500 but the width of note will be less it’s going to be 66 mm x 146 mm.

The RBI said that , “To achieve the optimal system of currency that would minimize the number of denominations while increasing the probability of proffering exact change, especially at the lower end of denominations, there is a logical need to introduce the missing denomination of Rs 200, which will make the present currency system more efficient”.The new 200rupees note will be issued on August 25, 2017.
